How does one battles with the trouble of recurring sins? (Committing the same sin again after repentance)
I was once told that when one truly repents, he/she will not commit the same sin again. Committing the same sin means he/she has not truly repented. I personally find this difficult or untrue as the devil is always lurking around, preying on my weakest areas and moments.
I find it especially hard to face the Lord and ask for forgiveness for repeated sins. The guilt, shame and despair can be overwhelming.
How can we find assurance and comfort that we will be forgiven even if we commit the same sins? More importantly, in this age, how can we stop committing the same sins?
